SAARS, KEEPING THE EXCITEMENT OF HAM RADIO GOING!

If you are a new Amateur Radio Operator or an Old
Ham, the St. Augustine Amateur Radio Society (SAARS)
welcomes you to Amateur Radio in the “ We invite you to attend the meetings of the Club Call and Repeaters SAARS members operate on and support several
repeaters in St. Augustine. The
Club Call is N4AUG and most of the activity can be found on the 146.625
or the 145.210 repeaters. Neither
of these Emergency Communications Support SAARS members are very active with supporting our county emergency services through the local ARES® and SKYWARN organizations. Many club members support and are members of ARES® and SKYWARN an act as emergency radio operators during natural and man-made disasters. They also report inclement weather conditions to the Nation Weather Service and other ham radio operators as trained National Weather Service SKYWARN spotters. Testing Sessions The St. Augustine Amateur Radio Society provides
regular testing sessions for all levels of Amateur Radio Operator.

Programs and Events Ok, not all of our activities are related to emergency services. We are very active doing fun and family related activities with our radios and related equipment. Field Day is a nationally recognized weekend where Amateur Radio Operators and clubs set-up their radio equipment in field conditions to try and make as many contacts on as many different bands and using as many different modes of possible. Field Day always creates many club memories and is one of our favorite events. We participate in other events as well during the year including the Night of Lights celebration, the Independence Day celebration, National Lighthouse Days and Amateur Radio Kids Day and quarterly radio campouts to mention just a few. meter rag chew net at SAARS Lunch Social Members and friends of SAARS
