May Meeting:
The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Elegance at 7:00 PM on May 13, 2008 by President Kerry Hinkley, K4ZED.
15 members and/or visitors were present.
The Treasures report was given by Secretary Ron Larsen, W9QGB for Secretary Wilson Smith, W7GAM. who was absent.
The minutes were provided by web page and accepted as written.
NEW BUSINESS:
Visitors were introduced.
Ron, W9QGB asked if the club was going to participate in the 4th of July celebration this year. It was decided by unanimous decision that the club would not participate this year.
OLD BUSINESS:
Don Crist, K4UBT provided us with a full update on Field Day plans. Plans are to run 4 or 5 club stations including Phone, CW, Digital, GOTA, and VHF. Plans are also to have family activities available including pontoon boat rides, canoes and fishing. We plan to meet up on Saturday morning June 28th to begin the planning and set-up for the days activities. A VE testing session will also be held at Field Day as well as educational programs. Information on planned field day activities are on the SAARS web site including a schedule of planned events
The meeting was Adjourned at 7:45 PM for light refreshments.
VE TESTING SCHEDULE:
The Society has a regular location/time to offer Amateur Radio License Testing . Tests are currently held at the Memorial Lutheran Church at 3375 U.S. 1 South, St. Augustine, Florida 32086. The test takes place in the church library.
Wilson Smith, W7GAM, the Society's Head VE has announced that regular testing of all license grades will be offered on alternate months on the 2nd Saturday. Walk-ins are welcome, the time and place is 10 AM at the Memorial Lutheran Church at 3375 U.S. 1 South, St. Augustine, Florida 32086. The next scheduled testing session is set for June 14, 2008
There will also be a testing session at 11:00 AM on Saturday June 28th during Field Day at Faver-Dykes State Park
