June Meeting:

The monthly SAARS meeting was called to order by President Kerry Hinckley, K4ZED, at 1905 with the Pledge of Allegiance.

MINUTES:

The minutes of the May 2010 meeting were approved as posted on the SAARS web site.

TREASURERS REPORT:

Treasurer - Gerry Prins - AB4SR was on vacation but one check had been written to pay for the Society insurance.

OLD BUSINESS:

The plans for the ARRL Field Day were asked about but, since Philip, KJ4MXO, was not present nothing could be presented.


NEW BUSINESS:

No new business discussed.


PROGRAM:

Kerry, K4ZED had planned a short program but an earlier emergency precluded the preparation so the program was postponed. There was a general discussion of various antenna design and implementation and a general round-table on amateur radio and SAARS history which was very informative.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

The meeting was adjourned at 20:05.

 

VE TESTING SCHEDULE:

The Society continues to have a regular location/time to offer Amateur Radio License testing. Tests are currently held at the Memorial Lutheran Church at 3375 U.S. 1 South, St. Augustine, Florida 32086. Testing takes place in the church library, the 2nd Saturday of alternate months, at 10:00 a.m. The 2010 schedule can be found at: http://www.saarsham.net/training.html.

Doug Wiles, WF4B, remains the Society's Head Volunteer Examiner.

The next scheduled testing session is set for August 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.


Club Activities and Net Operations:

Members and friends of SAARS meet socially each Friday at 12:00 noon at Shaughnessy's Grill. Shaughnessy's Grill is located at 4255 US 1 south (in the Publix Shopping center).  We informally discuss anything ham radio related and ok, some things not related to ham radio at all.  We do have a great time.  Come join us.

Below is information on net operations on the St. Augustine repeaters.  

SAARS Weekly 2 Meter Net - Wednesdays 7:00 PM - 146.625 mHz. 

St. Johns County ARES Net - Wednesdays 8:00 PM - 145.210MHz or 147.015MHz repeaters.

Flagler County ARES Net - Wednesdays 7:00 PM - 145.470mHz. (Tone 123.0)

Duval County ARES Net - Wednesdays  7:30 PM - 146.760 mHz. (Tone 127.3 cps.)
