Wilson Smith, W7GAM
It is with great regret that SAARS must announce the passing of our good friend and associate, Wilson Smith, W7GAM. He was a good friend and a long time HAM who will be sincerley missed by his friends and members of the Society.

Tailgate and Estate Sale
SAARS/ARES is sponsoring a tailgate and estate sale of Amateur Radio gear in St. Augustine on March 20, 2010. The event will be held in the parking lot of Herbie Wiles Insurance Company at 400 Ponce de Leon Blvd. (US Rt. 1). If anyone is interested in offering Amateur Radio gear for sale, please contact either Doug Carter, N4FPS, or send an email to website support (see below). We will be on the air on 146.625 for directions.

Former Member New Book
ARRL has recently published a book, "Antenna Designer's Notebook" written by a former member of SAARS, Brian Cake (KF2YN). Copies of the book may be seen at the St. Augustine Public Library or purchased from ARRL.

New Officers Elected
Members of the St. Augustine Amateur Radio Society elected new officers at the January Monthly Meeting. Kerry Hinkley, Peter Kelleher, Jim Morrell, Bob Stephens and Gerry Prins were unanmously elected as the 2010 Society Officers. Their names, call sign and office are listed in the center column.

Please include these events in you personal calendars now so that you will be aware of them all year as you plan for your work and personal agendas.

SAARS Lunch Social
Members and friends of SAARS meet socially each Friday at 12:00 noon at Shaughnessy's Grill. Shaughnessy's Grill is located at 4255 US 1 south (in the Publix Shopping center). We informally discuss anything ham radio related and ok, some things not related to ham radio at all. We do have a great time. Come join us.
